Maddie's Puppies

Born on  November 7th, 2022
All have found their forever homes!

Individual Photos
The guardian family of Maddie picked a "Hawaiian" theme for the short term names (until their forever families rename them) Because they had a wonderful family trip to Hawaii and fell in love with all things Hawaiian.

yellow girl for the Polynesian center       "Polly"

Moved to California to live with Oliver a 4 year old EllsWORTH Labradoodle and his family

green boy "Shaka"

2/3/23 Shaka left for his new family, He and Polly were the best of friends and it's been a bit of an adjustment. I am proud of both of them for figuring out their life without each other.  Polly loves the new freedom of exploring more of the house her. We are loving the change of her coat. I can't wait to see what her silver coat will be when her adult coat comes in,

9 and 10 weeks old, We have been in a whirlwind, I went out of town during their 9th week, and we tore out our kitchen to prepare for new cabinets and all things new, (this is a 1960's  house) We have major flooding in our barn and yard and have been pumping water out for over a week.  But the puppies have been absolutely amazing! They have had a blast playing in the snow and rain, they have learned to sit nicely for food, they have had an experience with "leash training" (or maybe training kids about puppies). They are curious and courageous and happy puppies. It is sad to see them leave for their new homes, but it is also wonderful to know that they will be well loved and taken great care of.   They have had a lot of visitors and people to play with too!

8 weeks old, Well when the puppies were 7 weeks old we had their aptitude evaluations done, there is a link to that on this web site. The puppies are now sleeping in a crate almost all night, (from about 11:30PM to about 6:00AM  Only one night one of them had an accident.  the first 3 nights I got up and let them out at about 2 or 3 am  I am giving each of them a turn in a little crate by themselves so they get a little use to alone time. They love the snow, they love to run, they  are great and following me all over the place. They are learning to sit for treat (dry dog food kibble). And their food is all dry now. They seem super happy and sweet, It is funny how some were more nervous for the aptitude evaluation then they ever are at my house.  We are trying to give them more and different experiences so they continue to learn. (I let them listen to movies on the computer and listen to desensatizing sounds for puppies of door bells and babies crying and airplanes etc. They are sure fun puppies!

Five weeks old. They are eating more mushy kibble and ground up kibble, they are going potty in the potty area. They have been outside and loved it. (not a lot since it's been cold though). They like to play and wrestle and fight. They still love sleeping in a big puppy pile.  They are all super soft and sweet

Four weeks old, we moved them again from the 4X4 box (since Polly snuck out) and have moved them to a 4X8 box. They are starting to run around and explore, they like new toys and new things to see and smell and play with, They are still chewing on each other. We will start with a very liquid "mush" this week. We will also start letting them listen to music and noises. They hardly ever cry, Maddie is right there to check on them and help them if they make a peep. All is well with these darling littles!

Three weeks old, they are moving from their sleep area to potty, and are starting to do it on their own. They are learning to bark, and are exploring everything with their mouths, They are starting to chew on each other's faces and heads and  are trying to walk on all fours. I think their ears are pretty much open. Maddie is starting to stand up to nurse them, which means a lot of tipping over and falling  over puppies.  They will be getting different toys and things to explore as they are learning to walk. They are lovely!

Two weeks old, Most of the puppies have their eyes open, (just waiting on Manoa), ears will open this coming week to 10 days, they are moving around now and starting to get on all 4's all though they usually "army crawl" We will move them to a bigger box, with a potty area, probably this weekend. Maddie is a great mom, pups have had a bath and a few visitors. Things are going great!

One weeks old, puppies are growing although some slower than others. Maddie is doing great, We took Maddie and the puppies to the Veterinarian for a check up and removal of dew claws for the puppy. We have started ENS (early neuro stimulation) and early scent introduction ESI.  The puppies eyes should open this coming week or the next. All is well the puppies are super sweet!

I was so ready for another litter, I love the little ones so much. And a daytime delivery is such a blessing! Maddie is a first time momma, and I was a little worried how good of a mother she would be, since she isn't very  fond of other dogs, and she thinks she is a human.  But she is one of the most in-tune, and loving mother. She doesn't just watch a puppy cry about being to far away from her, she gets up and gets closer to it. It is alot to do with 6 moving crying puppies, but she loves it and hardly wants to leave them for potty breaks.
